On February 19-20, the 34th DVN International Automotive Lighting Workshop, a premier global event in the automotive lighting industry, was grandly held in Munich, Germany. As an invited guest, Refond showcased a range of new products and technologies for automotive LEDs and delivered an insightful speech, engaging with global industry leaders to discuss future trends in automotive lighting.
In recent years, the rapid development of new energy vehicles has brought new opportunities to the automotive LED market. Driven by the wave of new energy and autonomous driving, smart cockpits have transitioned from concept to mass production, and in-vehicle displays have shown diversified development trends. Among these, Mini LED in-vehicle display backlighting, with its significant advantages such as high reliability, high brightness, and relatively low cost, has gradually become the preferred configuration for more mid-to-high-end vehicle models.
efond's latest ultra-thin 0OD solution and white light COB solution have achieved multi-dimensional upgrades in precise light control, contrast, power consumption, flicker improvement, and high-zone cost performance. These advancements ensure that in-vehicle displays deliver accurate colors and realistic, detailed images in both high-brightness and extremely dark modes, meeting users' pursuit of an ultimate visual experience and redefining the standards for Mini LED smart cockpits.
Based on Mini LED technology, Refond has established a comprehensive portfolio of innovative LED solutions for automotive lighting and displays, including pixelated smart taillights, dynamic logos, and ultra-thin ambient lighting. At the DVN event, this series of innovative solutions became a highlight of the exhibition area, attracting widespread attention and high praise from attendees.
On February 20, Refond was invited to attend the "2025 China International LED Industry Development Conference and the First JM Insights Spring Tea Party." Refond's R&D technical expert, Zhu Jianfei, delivered a speech titled "Full-Scenario Applications of Mini LED Backlight Technology," sharing insights into Refond's innovative Mini LED technologies and market applications.
He stated that Mini LED technology has already achieved mass production and shipment in medium and small-sized applications and is gradually expanding into broader application scenarios. Facing the "siege" of OLED, Mini LED backlighting needs to continuously break through in performance and cost to solidify its market competitiveness.
As a pioneer in the Mini LED field, Refond is continuously advancing R&D innovations in ultra-thin design, high brightness/energy efficiency, and material solutions, striving for comprehensive technological upgrades to create differentiated product advantages.
Refond has achieved thinning from the packaging structure level of the light board itself and optical mixing thinning (i.e., minimizing OD) from the optical perspective of the backlight module. This has led to the creation of a unique uniform structure design patent and reflective paper molding technology, which further enhance brightness while saving costs and reducing thickness.
Currently, Refond has innovatively launched Mini LED product solutions with significant advantages such as ultra-thin design, excellent consistency, uniform structure, high luminous efficiency, low cost, easy assembly, and multi-zone capabilities. These solutions have been widely applied in consumer electronics, TVs, and automotive applications, meeting market demands for high-performance and high-reliability display solutions, and strongly driving the innovative development of the Mini LED industry.
Innovation Never Stops, Progress Never Ends
Moving forward, Refond will actively embrace the development trends of Mini LED, collaborate with upstream and downstream industry chains to explore new possibilities, and promote the iterative optimization of Mini LED technologies, products, and solutions. At the same time, Refond will actively participate in industry standardization efforts, accelerating the standardization process and laying a solid foundation for the healthy and sustainable development of the Mini LED industry.
